Hope Cross Country Competes at SAU, Lady Cats Win Lois Davis Invitational
Magnolia- The Lady Cat Cross Country team showed out Saturday morning as they won the SAU Lois Davis Invitational in Magnolia. Led by Madelyne Maclaughlin who ran a 23:17 to claim 5th place, which is her 2nd top 5 finish of the week. Brianna Maclaughlin placed 9th place and medaled Saturday, her top 10 finish of the week. Audrey Mercado (14th) and Ari Juanes (15th) played a massive role in helping Hope claim the trophy Saturday as they ran excellent races and both place top 15. Crystal Ortiz finished strong and earned 23rd to help secure the win and Reyna Martinez finished 31st. In the Jr. Girls race, Sophia Johnson placed 9th and earned a medal, with teammates Allison Yhoss finishing 50th and Wendy Hernandez placed 56th. 

 

Brian Jimenez was the highest finishing Bobcat as he medaled in 8th place, his second top-10 finish of the week. Aniell Felipe ran an impressive race and finished 12th, Alex Hernandez finished in 15th place, his second top-15 finish of the week. Alex Brand came back from an ankle injury this weekend to finish 19th, Rey Retana finished 27th, David Ruiz, Kevin Lozano, and Sergio Brand all finished in order from 30th-32nd. Fabian Aguilar finished 39th, Kelvin Ocampo placed 46th, Omar Cardona finished 51st, and Angel Pardo finished 63rd. The Boys team finished 3rd, only 4 points out of 2nd place as a team. The Bobcat and Lady Cat XC teams will compete at Trinity Christian next Saturday at the Taylor Wade Invitational.
