Hope Downtown Network Launches New Project
Friday, February 28, 2025, Hope, Arkansas, Hope Downtown Network (HDN) will soon launch a new project called, “ Paint the Town ”, which aims to maintain and enhance the appeal, aesthetic quality, and property values of the businesses in historic downtown Hope.

Paint the Town is an application-based project.  Downtown building owners can submit an application in order to have their building painted.  The painting project options for each business will include either front, back, or sides of the building’s exterior.

Hope Downtown Network is a program under Main Street Arkansas. Therefore, Main Street Arkansas consultants from Little Rock will review the applications and make the selection for the businesses that will be painted in the first round of the project.  Main Street Arkansas will also provide historically accurate color palettes from which to choose.

To obtain high-quality paint for this project, Hope Downtown Network will be working with an outstanding community partner, Sherwin-Williams Paint Store in Hope.  Each property owner will be required to make a small, monetary investment towards this project.  They will also be required to provide necessary materials to complete the project as well as assist in prepping and painting their own building.  Hope Downtown Network volunteers will be helping the businesses as they work alongside each property owner.  They will also be encouraging the community to join them in this project, so a “painting schedule” will be posted on the Hope Downtown Network Facebook page as soon as applicants have been selected.

Starting next month, the Hope Downtown Network board members will visit each business in the downtown historic district as they hand deliver applications and answer any questions the business /property owners might have at the time.

Barb Noble, President of the Hope Downtown Network Board shared the “why” for this project as she stated, “Hope Downtown Network follows the Main Street 4-Point Approach for downtown business revitalization and historic preservation.  Our Paint the Town Project takes into consideration each of the 4 points which are Design, Organization, Promotion, and Economic Vitality.   We are excited to launch this project and assist our downtown businesses with exterior painting needs that they might have.  We firmly believe that in revitalizing downtown, we are ultimately helping our entire community.”
