Hope Education Association Hosts Chamber Community Coffee

The Hope Education Association (HEA) hosted the Chamber Community Coffee this morning at the Hub in downtown Hope. A good crowd gathered to grab some refreshments, chat with other community members, and learn more about the HEA. Hosea Born, HEA President, shared with SWARK.Today the organizations excitement at hosting today's Coffee. "This is a great opportunity to get out in the community and let them know more about what we do," said Born. "We want to reassure the community that we do have an organization here in Hope that represents the professional interests of educators. Everyone from bus drivers to secretaries to teachers, we are here to advocate for them and advocate for stronger public schools to try and make Hope Public Schools the best we can."

Also in attendance this morning were two visiting artists: Paul Hester of Houston, Texas by way of Fayetteville, and David Griggs of Denver, Colorado. These artists are touring Hope today with an invitation from Southwest Arkansas Arts Council (SWAAC) to assess needs, assets, and potential of public spaces in order to put together a proposal for a public art project. They will be at a press conference for SWAAC this afternoon from 2:30 to 4:00 at the Chamber of Commerce in downtown Hope.

The Chamber Community Coffee take place every Wednesday from 9:30am to 11:00am.
