Participants of the Hope Farmers’ Market have proven that they won't let anyone rain on their parade! With the unusual cold temperatures and stormy weather this morning, Hope Farmers’ Market soldiered on and put on an impressive display at the Hub in downtown Hope. 

Salinas Farms, Arnold Farms, Solomon's Farm, Heirloom Farms, and Young Sprouts had plenty of fresh produce and much more for patrons. Locally grown squash, onions, potatoes, radishes, turnips, and cauliflower are just a sample of the fresh vegetables that were for sale. Even ripe strawberries, fresh eggs, sweet honey, and bath products were available. The Mint Man was there, too, with his potted mint plants and homemade mint-flavored cookies. Also, we can't forget about Aunt Fern's fried pies: chocolate, coconut, peach, apple, and pecan. All vendors provided a pleasant atmosphere by visiting and laughing with community members who showed up to browse their products.

Farmers Bank & Trust presented the hospitality table this week with muffins, refreshments, and goodie bags for patrons. Representatives from Farmers Bank & Trust also stayed throughout the morning to visit with customers and share in the cheer of the Hope Farmers' Market. 

Who needs sunshine? Partners of the Hope Farmers' Market showed they are here to stay, come rain or shine, to offer fresh, locally-grown produce to the citizens of Hope and Hempstead county, and they did it with a smile. They make their own sunshine.

Hope Farmers Market will be back next week at the Hub in downtown Hope from 7 am to 11 am.
