Hope High School Graduate Launches Financial Advisory Firm
Arkansas Native Launches Little Rock-based Financial Advisory Firm

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Loren Marshall Ipsen (Marshall), an Arkansas native, announced the formation of an independent financial advisory firm – Ipsen Advisor Group – based in Little Rock.

Marshall Ipsen, a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®), has two decades of experience in the wealth management industry with Ameriprise, a franchised financial advisory firm which he owned. He said he is proud to launch and grow a new firm that serves people he respects in a state he loves. Ipsen, who was raised in South Arkansas, graduated from Hope High School and has his BBA in Finance from Texas A&M – Texarkana.

Ipsen has been a leader in the financial advising industry and was recently recognized as one of 2020’s top 25 Best Financial Advisors in Arkansas by Arkansas Money and Politics magazine (AMP), a reader-based selection of licensed, Arkansas-based advisors.

Ipsen said the new firm will offer the same array of services to its clients but will have access to a broader spectrum of financial technology and tools. “We will continue to provide services including financial planning, wealth management, tax planning and estate planning. We also focus on insurance, saving for education, retirement income strategies and social security,” he added. The firm also specializes in sustainable investing, investment strategies that consider financial returns and social and environmental good.

“Whether you have started your own business, are in retirement or an investor wondering what to do next, having a solid financial plan is important. Creating and managing a plan that’s based on research and flexible enough to adjust to what’s going on around you – especially in today’s changing financial climate – is what we do best. We take people financially from ‘I want to’ to ‘I did.’”

Ipsen said the firm has a diverse team of experts. It includes Amy Ipsen, Ipsen’s wife, who joined the firm in 2002 and uses her broad experience in management, technology and compliance as the operations manager; Randy Price, CFP®, a successful financial advisor since 1987 who joined the firm in 2013; and Nick Merriweather, who joined the firm in 2016 and focuses on saving for education and sustainable investing.

“We are dedicated to every detail of our clients’ portfolios and have the people and processes to make that happen. We also focus on getting to know each client – and their families – on a deeply personal level. When we are talking about finances, it is a conversation based on trust. Integrity and trust are the pillars of our firm, and that’s something we are proud of,” he added.

Ipsen Advisor Group is partnering with Sowell Management, nationwide leader and pioneer in the Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) space and was recognized in September by Barron’s as a Top 100 RIA.

“Sowell is a nationwide leader in the RIA industry and will provides back-office services such as billing, account management and best-in-class technology to Ipsen Advisor Group. We will have more tools to gather and analyze financial information quickly and additional portfolio and planning offerings through Sowell,” Ipsen said.

Bill Sowell, CEO and president of Sowell Management, said Ipsen Advisor Group “is a firm that shares Sowell’s core principles of honesty and transparency and will be an asset to those looking for a respected firm for solid, reliable financial planning. We are excited to begin building our relationship with them,” Sowell said.

Ipsen Advisor Group’s team also includes Fidelity Investments, one of the largest custodians of investment advisory assets. They will provide custodial, operational, practice management and trading support. “Together, we are able to provide clients five-star service, and we are excited to be doing it right here in Little Rock,” Ipsen said.

Ipsen enjoys “all things Arkansas,” he said. That includes hunting, fishing, camping and golf. He is an active member of his church and enjoys spending time with his wife, Amy, and their three children.

Ipsen Advisor Group’s offices will remain where they have been, at 2228 Cottondale Lane, Suite 150, in Little Rock, overlooking the Arkansas River. More information can be found at the company’s new website at www.IpsenAdvisorGroup.com.
