Hope Junior Auxiliary announces 1,457 hours contributed at Business After Hours event

At its Business After Hours event Tuesday April 5 at the Hope Chamber of Commerce, the Junior Auxiliary of Hope announced it had contributed 1,457 labor hours to the area since the beginning of this program year in August of 2021.

Holli Boyett, public relations officer for the group said these hours had been divided among financial contributing, education and hands-on activities. The latter included a fundraising spaghetti supper, Easter egg hunts and also a Sweet Reads event involving the distribution of picture books to local children.

For his part, Hope Mayor Don Still signed a proclamation Monday April 4 to proclaim this Junior Auxiliary Week and to “urge all citizens, civic and fraternal groups, news media and other community organizations to join in the salute to all Junior Auxiliary volunteers who have been an important presence in this community since 1961.”
