The Junior Auxiliary of Hope’s annual Easter Egg Hunt scored big Saturday with children and families of Hope and its surrounding communities.  The event occurred at the campus of UAHT with an estimated 100 children participating in the hunt. Snacks and refreshments, donated by Farmers Bank and Trust, were provided for the little hunters, as well as the chance to have a picture taken with the Easter Bunny. Local four-year-old Sadie Barnes found the Golden Egg which earned her a candy-filled prize.

Junior Auxiliary members donated, stuffed, and hid over 2,000 eggs to prepare for this year’s hunt. This is the first event the Junior Auxiliary of Hope has been able to present to the community since the cancellation of last year’s hunt, and subsequent events, due to the  COVID-19 pandemic health and safety restrictions. Although this year they could not present their usual Color Fun Run because of social distancing guidelines, they do plan to return the Fun Run to next year’s event. Hope Junior Auxiliary President Mary Berry shared with Swark.Today the organization's appreciation for the collaboration with UAHT and Farmers Bank and Trust to provide a fun community event for the kids.  Berry said, “We are grateful for their gracious donations and the opportunity to get more people around the community involved… The kids had a great time and we are so excited we got to have it this year."

The Junior of Auxiliary of Hope’s fundraiser, Egg Your Yard, is next weekend. They are still accepting registrations on their Facebook page. Members will hide candy-filled eggs in your yard along with a personalized note from the Easter Bunny.
