The Hope Junior Auxiliary (JA) welcomed guests to Hempstead Hall this morning as they hosted this week's Chamber Community Coffee. The ladies supplied participants with a pleasing display of savory snacks, sweet treats, and iced coffee while also sharing success stories of the events and scholarships they were able to provide area children over the last year.
JA President Aley Mendoza said the organization enjoyed the fellowship of community events. "We are so excited to be here," Mendoza said. "Events like these are a great way to let others in our area get to know who we are and what we do. We are always looking for women who are interested in helping the children of the community, and we encourage anyone who is interested in joining to contact a current JA member."
The JA Facebook page lists their motto “Care today-Character tomorrow” and emphasizes their mission "to enhance the lives of children and youth in our community today, because healthy, safe children become productive, caring adults of tomorrow." The ladies further expounded on these core values today, informing guests of upcoming activities and opportunities for local children, while also carrying out their roles as hosts, ensuring all participants had food and conversation throughout the event.
Next week's Chamber Community Coffee will be hosted by United Way at the Hope-Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce.
