Hope Lions serve meals Thursday to raise funds for Charitable Christian Medical Clinic
The Hope Lions Club hosted a Fish Fry Thursday afternoon and evening.  All profits from the $14 charge for each meal were earmarked for the Charitable Christian Medical Clinic of Hope , which provides care to low-income patients.

The club set its cookers up under an awning at the northeast corner of University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana’s Hempstead Hall and began frying catfish and chicken fingers to meet a 4:30 p.m. serving time.  The meals, which also included French fries, coleslaw, rolls and iced tea were served at tables inside the hall.

Diners could eat in and hear performances of gospel music from The Harmenizers of First Baptist Church. But those wishing to pick up their meals and go could do so as well.

Baked goods were auctioned off as well to raise funds for the clinic.  All reports were that the fry and the auction drew a large turnout.
