The Hope Methodist Church has been a staple in our community for as long as many of us can remember and they welcome everyone to their services.
A mass of locals and church goers came out to join in the festivities and mingle. Everyone snacked on a variety of finger foods laid out beautifully on a three table spread with a gorgeous arrangement of flowers in the center table.
Executive Director of the Hope Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce, Christy Burns said “I’m proud of the turnout this morning in support of the Hope Methodist Church. I wish them many more happy years in our incredible town.”
Congregation member, Dr Carol Ann Duke spoke a little about today’s coffee and the history of Hope Methodist Church, “This congregation was started 150 years ago in a small country church, evolved into the original large location that is close to where Atwood’s is currently. Then in 1974, this building was erected. We are so excited to celebrate Christianity in our community, the outreach that we do, the partners that we serve through the chamber, our school districts, and in our community because that’s what our mission is as Christians, to serve others. And as John Wesley said, 'Do all the good you can by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, every day you can.”
