Hope native, Cait Light, wins Evening Gown Preliminary Award at Miss Arkansas Pageant
Hope born and raised Cait Light, who is currently competing at the Miss Arkansas Pageant in Little Rock, tied for first along side Miss Greater Hot Springs Mady Rottinghaus in the Evening Gown Preliminary Award portion of the competition.

Light, along with Rottinghaus, will receive a $500 scholarship provided by Emerge and Renee Stone.

Other winners of the Miss Arkansas pageant include Miss Rice Capital Kelsie Everett who won the Preliminary Artistic Expression in Talent Award and Miss Metro Ebony Mitchell and Miss University of Arkansas Whitney Williams who tied for the Preliminary On-Stage Interview Award on Tuesday, the opening night of the ceremony.

Everett received a $2,000 scholarship provided by former Miss Arkansas Hall of Fame recipients for winning the talent portion while Mitchell and Williams will both receive a $1000 scholarship for winning On-Stage Interview portion provided by the Miss Arkansas Scholarship Foundation. Everett performed the song “How Great Thou Art" for her talent.

This year’s Miss Arkansas Pageant celebrates the 83rd Year of the Miss Arkansas Scholarship Competition.  The show features 51 Miss Candidates and 40 Outstanding Teen contestants from around the state who are competing for over $211,000 in scholarship funds.

The competition continues with preliminaries on Thursday and Friday at 7:00 p.m. The crowning for Miss Arkansas 2021 is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Saturday, June 19.

For those who can’t attend the 2021 Miss Arkansas competition you can watch each night of preliminary competition on www.missarkansas.org. The final night of Miss Arkansas competition will be broadcast live statewide on KATV Channel 7 on Saturday. It will begin with a 30-minute special at 7:00 p.m. leading up to the pageant at 7:30 p.m.
