Hope Piranhas Swim Team Competes at Junior Olympics
Greensboro, NC- The Hope Piranhas Swim Team traveled to Greensboro, North Carolina last week to compete in the Junior Olympics, after earning a spot in the meet. The team was consisted of: Rory Richardson, Michael Massanelli, Logan Overton, Brixx Richardson, Carter Wilcox, and Kase Lemley. This group did an excellent job at the Junior Olympics and below are how the individual’s fared at the event.

 

Rory Richardson had a great week in Greensboro, as she competed in seven events. Rory placed 35th in the 50M Freestyle, 38th in the 50M Backstroke, 17th in the 100M Breaststroke, 27th in the 200M Medley Relay, 25th in the 50M Breaststroke, 27th in the 100M Freestyle, 27th in the 100M Backstroke, and 26th in the 200M Freestyle Relay. 

 

Michael Massaneli competed in nine events and had a great showing as he earned  a Top-10 finish in the 200M Freestyle. Massaneli also finished 13th in both the 50M Breaststroke and 100M Breaststroke, he finished 17th in the 200M Medley Relay, 200M Freestyle Relay, and the 400M Medley Relay. Michael finished 21st in the 100M Freestyle and 29th in the 50M Freestyle. 

 

Logan Overton competed in 7 events at the Junior Olympics. Overton finished 17th in the 200M Medley Relay. Logan also finished 10th in his heat in the 100M Backstroke. Overton also had very good showings in his heats, as he finished 14th in the 50M Backstroke. 

 

Brixx Richardson had a great showing in Greensboro, NC, as he finished 14th in both the 400M Medley Relay and the 100M Breaststroke. Brixx also finished 15th in the 200M Medley Relay, 17th in the 200M Freestyle Relay, as well as the 400M Freestyle Relay. Richardson also fared well in the 50M Backstroke, 50M Freestyle, 50M Freestyle, and the 100M Freestyle. 

 

Carter Wilcox showed out at the Junior Olympics with a Top-5 Finish in the 100M Fly, as well as an 8th place finish in the 200M Freestyle. Wilcox also claimed 17th in both the 200M Freestyle Relay and 200M Medley Relay. Carter also finished 19th in the 400M Freestyle Relay. 

 

Kase Lemley claimed a 6th place finish as he was excellent in the 100M Fly. Kase also finished in 14th in the 400M Medley Relay, 15th in the 200M Medley Relay, and 19th in the 400M Freestyle Relay. 

 

Congratulations to this group of Piranhas had a great season and their coaches did a great job as well. Keep an eye out for the Piranhas Swim Team for years to come.
