On Tuesday, April 8th, 2025 at about 2:16am, officers with the Hope Police Department arrested  Edward Woods, 55 of Hope, in the 1700 block of North Allen Street. Mr. Woods was charged  with Terroristic Threatening 1st Degree and Possession of a Firearm by Certain Persons. Mr.  Woods was transported to the Hempstead County Detention Facility and is awaiting a first court  appearance.  

On Tuesday, April 8th, 2025 at about 10:00am, detectives with the Hope Police Department  arrested Ruthina Thomas, 48 of Hope, in the 1300 block of East 3rd Street. Ms. Thomas was  charged with Domestic Battery 2nd Degree and transported to the Hempstead County Detention  Facility and is awaiting a first court appearance.

On Sunday, April 13th, 2025 at about 1:28am, Officers with the Hope Police Department arrested  Edwin Alvarado, 19 of Hope, in the 500 block of West Avenue D. Alvarado was served with  outstanding warrants for Conspiracy to Commit Commercial Burglary, Possession of a Handgun  by Minor or on School Property, Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor, Criminal Mischief  1st Degree and Discharging a Firearm in the City Limits. Alvarado was transported to the  Hempstead County Detention Facility and held for a first court appearance.
