On August 17th, 2023, Hope Police Department Detectives arrested Laquan Haynes Jr, 24, of  Hope, AR. The arrest was the result of a warrant issued for Haynes related to an incident on  04/09/2023 in the 1400 block of East Hickory Street in which a subject was shot.  

Haynes was booked into the Hempstead County Detention Center and charged with Battery 1st Degree and two counts of Terroristic Act. Haynes was held pending a first court appearance.
