Hope Tennis Competes at Conference, Monica Bobo Advances to State
Arkadelphia- The Hope Tennis team head to Henderson State and OBU to compete in the Conference Tournament Monday morning. Both the Girls and Boys teams had 6 players each represent Hope, two Singles and two Doubles teams each. On the Boys side, Riley Bramlett and Eric Salazar would advance into the 2nd round with a 8-4 victory over a team from DeQueen. Riley and Eric would then fall to the #1 overall seed 2-6, 0-6 to end a great season in which both will be returning next season. Ty Clayton and Davis Johnson had a tough draw and dropped their first match 0-8. In Singles, Charles Ford and James Artis each were eliminated first round. Great season from the guys team. 

Onto the Girls, Monica Bobo had a great day, earning 2nd place in Singles and qualifying for State. Monica earned a 1st round bye because of her excellent play thus far in the season, and then won her 2nd round matchup 6-0,6-0. In the third round Monica would win 6-2, 6-0 to advance to the finals. She played a tough match, but fell just short as she lost 2-6, 2-6 to a great opponent. Amber Cisneros also picked up a win Monday, as she won her 1st round matchup 8-5, but would lose 0-6, 0-6 to the 1st place finisher. In Doubles, Yoshigie Gonzales and Priscila Moreno received a 1st round bye, but would drop a tough 2nd round match 1-6, 2-6. Edith Dominguez and Kennedy Phillips had a bye to start the day, then earned a 6-0, 6-0 win in the second round to advance to the semi-finals. Edith and Kennedy would lose a tough match 3-6, 1-6 to head the the 3rd place winner advances to State game. The Hope duo would win the opening set, but would drop the next set to set up a tie-breaker. It would not go Edith and Kennedy's way as they dropped the match 4-10 ending a great season.
