Hope Tourism Commission Meets to Discuss Permits and Payments, 2022 Budget, Christmas Decorations

The Hope Advertising and Tourist Promotion Commission met Tuesday night at the Fair Park Community Center to discuss overdue permits and payments, the Tourism 2022 budget, and purchasing Christmas decorations for the 2022 holiday season.

After approval of the January minutes and expenses, the commission went over those businesses that are past due on their permits and payments. The commission agreed to send letters to the businesses to remind them to pay.

The commission then approved their 2022 budget, with the understanding that there is room for amendment throughout the year.

Finally, the commission discussed the purchase of Christmas decorations for the 2022 season. The decorations will be purchased at a 33% markdown. The commission is looking into expanding the area to be decorated next year, and is looking at places on Hervey Street that might be optimal for decorating. They agreed on the purchase of a lighted arch display, and will continue to look at places to display Christmas decorations in 2022.
