Hope Train Day Schedule of Events for Saturday, May 7th

Hope Tourism Announcement: Train Day Schedule and Event information.

  • BBQ Cook Off-  Ribs will be judged and there is a $50 entry fee. Participants must sign up by this Friday. Call 870-777-7500 to sign up and pay the day of the contest. Ribs will be picked up at 3:30 to be judged.  All competitors must arrived by 8:30 am before the roads are blocked off. Competitors also have the option to sell BBQ plates with two sides. Ribs will not be provided.  1st place $1,250, 2nd $750, 3rd $350.

  • Car Show will be located on S Main in front of Four States furniture. For more information on the Car Show contact the Plow Boys Car Club via Facebook. Entry fee is $20.

  • Cornhole Tournament entry fee is $20. Participants can sign up the day of the tourney in front of the Train Depot by 10:30 or on the app called Scoreholio. Start time will be 11:00.  Must bring own cornhole bags, some will be provided.   1st place $750, 2nd place $500, 3rd $250.

  • Kids Corner will feature the famous grafitti train, kids train ride, bounce house, inflatable slide, obstacle course, rock climbing wall, and the trampoline bungee jump. Face painting will be available and games will be throughout the area. This event is completely Free!

  • Snow Cone truck will be on site.

  • LifeShare blood bus will be there.

  • Dr. Stroderd's Dog Show begins at 9:15.

  • Dancetastics Dance team will do a show case on the stage at 10.:00 am.

  • Hope High School Jazz Band will show case at 11:45.

  • Cake Walk will be held by Cricket Wireless for kids under the age of 16. Other kids competition with prizes will also take place with the cake walk at 12:30 at the stage. Hoola hoop contest, etc.

  • Live music will also be played that is listed on the schedule.

  • SWARK.Today will be providing free hot dogs through out the day while supplies last.

  • Super 1 has donated bottled water for this event.

  • Youth art exhibit hosted by the Southwest Arkansas Arts Council this will be located by the national building.

  • Train Depot and museum will be open for visitors.

  • Vendors will be sat up at the HUB and down Second St.

  • Tractor show will be down 2nd Street.

  • Hope Fire Department, Hope Police Department, Hempstead County Sheriff's Office, and Pafford will also be set up by the kids zone.
