Hope Water and Light hosts Hope-Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce coffee

Today’s Chamber of Commerce Coffee took place starting at 9:30 this morning at Hope Water and Light, on the second floor of its building.

Up to 50 people attended and were served by Sheba’s Family Restaurant from a table laden with breakfast fare and desserts. Among the victuals were smoked ham, biscuits, shrimp cocktail, tortilla chips and queso, Swedish meatballs, lemon-pepper boneless chicken wings, fried mac and cheese nuggets, vegetable pinwheels, cubed cheese. The desserts included mini-pecan pies, marshmallow-topped brownies, lemon rounds and coffee cake.

Tropical punch was the beverage served.

Hope Water and Light’s headquarters is at 105 North Elm, just east of City Hall. According to its website, the utility provides electricity to 5,682 residential customers, 976 commercial and 58 industrial customers. It also provides water from the surface of Little River and nine wells. It is also inviting prospective customers to its internet service to pre-register so that they can be first in line when the service becomes available at their addresses.
