Hope XC Competes at State Meet
Hot Springs- The Lady Cat and Bobcat XC squads competed on Thursday at Oaklawn for the State Cross Country Meet. The Lady Cats finished in 8th place overall out of 17 teams. 

Sophomore Madelyne Maclaughlin led the Lady Cats as she finished in 31st overall. Madelyne has been great all season, leading this talented XC squad with four Top-5 finishes on the year. Brianna Maclaughlin finished in 37th place. Brianna had multiple top-10 finishes on the season.  

Freshman Sophia Johnson finished in 60th place as she ran very well. Miracle Martinez ran one of her best times of the year as she finished 62nd, and Esmeralda Leon ran great and finished in 64th, to round out the qualified team. Brency Cabriales finished 74th, Ari Juanes finished in 84th, Audrey Mercado 99th, and Crystal Ortiz was 106th. It was a great season for this group of runners, which won multiple trophies this season. 

Brian Jimenez set a new personal record for the Boys team as he ran an 18:33 and finished in 37th in a talented field. Alex Brand was impressive Thursday, as he also set a personal record and finished in 53rd. Aniell Felipe ran 70th; Kevin Lazano 79th; Gio Ruiz 86th; Nathan Sanchez 87th; Alex Hernandez 104th, and Sergio Brand 125th. This XC squad had a heck of a season, including placing second overall in conference, and taking many other trophies. All but two of these nine runners will be returning next season. Congratulations to both the Lady Cats and Bobcats teams this season!!
