Hope XC Runs Away with the Varsity Girls and Boys Events, Claiming 1st Place in Both

Hope XC Runs Away with the Varsity Girls and Boys Events, Claiming 1st Place in Both
Genoa- It was a heck of a day for the Lady Cat and Bobcat XC squads as they claimed the Varsity Girls and Varsity Boys Dragon Country Invitational Championships. Coach Marshall and Coach Dominguez were both pleased with the results and that the hard-work is paying off. The Varsity Girls got the day started with 4 Top-10 finishes and also the 11th place finisher to claim the Girls title. Madelyne Maclaughlin continues to be her as she once again claims a Top-5 finish. Madelyne has now finished Top-5 in every event this season. Brianna Maclaughlin finished in 6th place Saturday after posting another amazing performance, Brianna has been Top-10 in every event she has competed in this season. Esmeralda Leon ran her best race of the year as she medaled with a 7th place finish. Ari Juanes claimed another Top-10 finish for the Lady Cats in her best race of the year. Audrey Mercado placed 11th to claim victory for the Lady Cats team. Brency Cabriales finished 14th, Miracle Martinez finished 16th, Crystal Ortiz 21st, and Reyna Martinez 24th. The Varsity Girls have their sights set on a Conference title as they claimed their 2nd Meet in 3 weeks. In the Jr. Girls, Sophia Johnson ran a great race and claimed a medal with a 9th place finish and Wendy Hernandez placed 42nd. 

 

Brian Jimenez once again had another Top-5 finish as he placed 3rd Saturday as he continues to set the bar for the Bobcat squad. Two more Bobcats would finish in the Top-10 as Aniell Felipe ran his best race of the year and placed 4th, and Alex Hernandez also had a Top-10 finish as he finished in 10th place. Kevin Lozano finished 11th and Sergio Brand 12th, rounded out the Bobcats team as they edged out Magnolia by 5 points. Lozano and Brand did a great job of finishing ahead of the final two Magnolia runners to make the difference. David Ruiz had a good day as well as he finished 15th, Reynaldo Retana finished 20th, Omar Cardona 21st, and Gio Alvarado finished in 23rd. The Jr. Bobcats team brought home hardware as they won meet Runner-Up, Jose Juanes ran his best race of the year, as he earned a 5th place medal, Bradley Brown placed 12th, Jonathan Hernandez 23rd, Geraldo Rodriguez 25th, Dylan Mercado 41st to round out the Jr. Team. Great day for the Bobcats XC team as they keep heading towards their goal of a Conference title. Hope XC will compete in Nashville Oct. 3rd.
