Hope's Scout Troop 5 Honors Veterans with Flag Placement on Memorial Day
Hope's Scout Troop 5 placed American Flags on Veteran's graves on Memorial Day at Rose Hill, Cave Hill and Memory Gardens Cemeteries.  The flags are purchased by the Lions, Kiwanis and Rotary Clubs of Hope.  There was a total of about 700 flags  placed.  Hope Scouts have been doing this annually for about 30 years.  Ed Flagg and Keenan Williams coordinate the  project. A Troop 5 Color Guard under the direction of Eagle Scout Emma Wright presented the American and Arkansas Flags at a Memorial Service at the Old Hempstead County Courthouse. Scout Mary Martinez with the assistance of Scout Dakota Greer retired a worn American Flag as part of the activities. Mary is retiring numerous American Flags as her Eagle Scout Project.
