The Hope Sonic’s kitchen building sustained a fire early this afternoon. Smoke, fire and water damage are such that the business will close indefinitely, according to co-owner Jason Brown, who also said the cause of the fire was unknown. 

The fire was contained by firefighters not long after it was reported, but it did produce a lot of smoke.

The business, located on 128 South Hervey, has been a presence in Hope for over 40 years.
