Hornets Advance to Border Battle Championship in Emerson
Emerson- The Hornets met the Taylor Tigers in a semifinal matchup Thursday night with a spot in the finals up for grabs. Points were at a premium after the opening quarter for both teams. In the end, the Hornets made the plays required to win the game, and continue their hot start to the season. Free throws late put Blevins up for good, as they went on a 7-0 run in the final minute or so to win 60-53.

Xavier Bazzelle led the Hornets in scoring with 24 points and also grabbed 13 rebounds for a double-double. Jaxon Hinton played a great game, as he was the difference maker Thursday night for Blevins with 17 points and 7 rebounds. Paul Antley scored 7 and grabbed 4 rebounds, with Rilee Faulkner scoring 5 points and 4 rebounds. Javi Gomez had 4 points and 5 steals and Sean Rohan added 3 points. Kaden Powell played some big minutes in the second half and forced some key turnovers. 

Blevins is back on the court in the finals Friday night against Emerson. Tip-off is set for 7:30
