Hornets Hold Off Late Rally by Blue Jays to Earn a Big Conference Win
Blevins- Everyone in attendance got their moneys worth on Monday night in Blevins, as the long-awaited matchup between the Hornets and Blue Jays did not disappoint. Blevins held off a late Blue Jays rally in the 4th, as the Hornets saw a 15-point lead with 5:00 remaining, shrink down to a 1-point advantage with under a minute to play. Javier Gomez and Xavier Bazzelle would knock down some big free-throws late to overcome a big rally from Nevada, behind three big 3-point shots late in the game from Justin Myrick. Blevins would go on to win the game 72-68.

The game was close all the way until Blevins got some seperation late in the third quarter and added to that early in the 4th to gain a 15-point advantage, as Dee Page, Xavier Bazzelle, and Javier Gomez each scored in double-figures in the 2nd half. Justin Myrick scored 12 of his 15 points in the 2nd half for Nevada and Kavion Coleman scored 7 of his game-high 21 points in the 2nd half. 

Xavier Bazzelle and Dee Page each led Blevins with 19 points, with Rilee Faulkner pouring in 11 points, including 3 3-pointers, and Javier Gomez played great in the 2nd half to finish with 10 points, as four Hornets finished in double-figures. Charles Hatchett scored 8 points. 

Kavion Coleman led the way for Nevada with 21 points, including a big 1st quarter, where he scored 13 points. Jusitn Myrick knocked down a game-high 5 3-pointers to finish with 15 points and Kobe Hughey finished with 12 points. Keyonte Wingfield and Rico Aparicio each scored 6 points, Caleb Moss had 4 points, and Monti Mixon scored 2. 

The Hornets are back in action on Tuesday against Gurdon and Nevada hosts Umpire Wednesday in a conference game.
