Hornets Win Wild One in OT Over Taylor, Advance to Semis
Emerson- The game came down to the wire on Thursday night, as Blevins found themselves in a 3-point deficit with just seconds remaining to a very good Taylor squad. Xavier Bazzelle got his hands on a loose ball, after a Tigers turnover and found the hero of the night, Javi Gomez in the corner for an overtime-forcing 3pt shot at the end of regulation. "We started off rusty but we weren't ready to go home, I love this team," Gomez said after the game on Thursday. 

In overtime, it was all Blevins, as they won a very "close" lopsided overtime period and won the game 72-71. 

Xavier Bazzelle torched the nets for 29 points. Bazzelle also had 7 boards and a pair of assists. Rilee Faulkner poured in 24 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Jaxon Hinton had a 9-point 10 rebound effort on Thursday. Gomez scored 7 and all 7 of those came in crucial moments of the game. Paul Antley scored 4 and Sean Rohan added 3. 

With the win, the Hornets are in the semifinals vs Lafayette Co. today at 5:30 with a trip to the finals up for grabs.
