City Council member Howard Austin was recognized for his 25 years serving on the Prescott City Council. Mayor Oliver presented him with a gift and words of appreciation, and Austin expressed his love for Prescott.Â
Chamber Director Jamie Hillery updated the council on upcoming events: Trick or Treat on Elm Street, Mingle and Jingle, and Giving Tree.
EDO Director Mary Godwin updated the council on the house cleanup project, the sidewalk project beginning next Monday, and Leadership Nevada County beginning in January.
The council approved the annual city mills ordinance.Â
Citizen Heard Langston brought questions gathered from numerous citizens about electric bills and possible ways to get out of the contract with the electric company.
Bob Cummings, candidate for Nevada County Judge, addressed the council about his candidacy and asked for their support.
Council member Austin requested an executive session. After the executive session, Mayor Oliver requested that items from the Fair Labor Standards Act be included in the handbook.
