HEMPSTEAD COUNTY SHERIFFS DEPARTMENT:
Hempstead County deputies arrest man for theft of a forklift On June 30, 2023 at approximately 1:04 am the Hope Police Department advised deputies that they had taken a suspect into custody after he had run the forklift into the front door of Townsend Outdoors.
Deputies and HPD officer’s arrested 22-year-old Jaylon Poole of Hope, Deputies charged Pool with theft of property for the theft of the fork lift from a business on highway 278 West near the Hope Airport.
Poole was taken to the Hempstead County Jail and is awaiting a first appearance on the theft charge and Commercial Burglary from HPD related to the incident at Townsend Outdoors.
HOPE POLICE DEPARTMENT:
On Friday, June 30th, 2023 at about 1:04am, officers with the Hope Police Department responded to a burglar alarm at Townsend Outdoors in Hope, AR. Upon arriving at the location, officers observed that a lift had been utilized to break the glass doors of the business.
Officers then encountered Jalen Pool, 22 of Hope, AR, inside the business armed with a firearm.
Officers were able to place Pool into custody without incident. Pool was taken to the Hempstead County Detention Facility where he was charged with Commercial Burglary and Theft of
Property.
It was also discovered that the lift had also been stolen outside the city limits of Hope. The
investigation of the stolen lift was conducted by the Hempstead County Sheriff’s Office.
