HPD Arrests Three for Kidnappning and Fleeing
On Saturday, January 20th, 2024 at about 11:30pm, Officers with the Hope Police Department received a call in reference to a 20 year old female being forced into a vehicle in the 300 block of West 23rd Street.

Officers located a vehicle matching the description in town and attempted to stop the vehicle. The vehicle led officers on a pursuit through Hope and eventually into the Antoine, AR area. Four occupants of the vehicle fled on foot. Three of these subjects were apprehended. Arrested were Lacey O’Dell, 38 of Amity, AR and charged with Kidnapping and Fleeing. Clayton Vaughan, 33 of Arkadelphia, AR was charged with Kidnapping, Fleeing and Possession of a Controlled Substance with Purpose to Deliver. Michael Fryar, 40 of Pearcy, AR was arrested and charged with Kidnapping and Fleeing. 

All subjects were transported to the Hempstead County Detention Facility where they were held until a first court appearance. The investigation into this case continues. The police department would also like the public to know that this was an isolated incident and there is no known threat to the public at this time.
