The Hope Police Department strongly encourages citizens of Hope and Hempstead County to stay off the roads with the winter weather conditions continuing into the night.
All wrecker services are tied up and it would likely take hours to get motorists if stranded, thus making it a rescue mission rather than a routine tow.
"Wreckers are facing extreme difficulty getting to stranded motorists. Wait time may be very significant and no response may be possible. All citizens are encouraged to stay home and remain off the roadways," Assistant Chief of Police Kim Tomlin said.
Please stay home and stay safe.
