On Tuesday, January 2nd, 2024 at about 10:15am, officers from the Hope Police Department,  Hempstead County Sheriff’s Office and the 8th North Task Force, executed a search warrant in  the 300 block of North Louisiana Street in Hope, AR. The search warrant was executed as the result of a several month-long investigation into the sales of illegal narcotics.  

Officers recovered five and one-half ounces of Crack Cocaine and over an ounce of  methamphetamine. $5800 in U.S. Currency and four vehicles were also seized.  

Arrested as a result of this investigation was Ira Scott, 64 of Hope, AR. Scott was charged with  Possession with Intent to Deliver (Cocaine), Possession with Intent to Deliver  (Methamphetamine), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Maintaining a Drug Premises and  Possession of a Controlled Substance Near Certain Facilities. Scott is currently in the custody of  the Hempstead County Detention Facility awaiting a first court appearance.
