Mr. Geronimo Gomez Jr. was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and criminal attempt 1st degree murder.

Mr. Shrewsberry was arrested and charged with terroristic threatening in the 1st degree.

On May 28, 2020, at approximately 4:15 pm, officers of the Hope Police Department arrested Jason L. Ross, 33, of Hope, Arkansas and charged him with terroristic threatening 1st degree and aggravated assault on a family member.  The arrest occurred in the 400 block of South Washington Street in Hope.  Ross was taken to the Hempstead County Detention Facility and held for a first appearance.

On May 30, 2020, at approximately 10:45 am, officers of the Hope Police Department arrested Juan Luna, 19, Iris Luna, 22, and Geronimo Gomez Jr., 18, all of Hope, Arkansas and charged them with criminal attempt to commit 1st degree murder and aggravated assault.  Juan Luna was also charged with discharging a firearm in the city limits. The arrests occurred in the 700 block of West Avenue B, in Hope and were the results of an altercation that occurred in the 2000 block of West Avenue E in Hope, about an hour earlier.   According to witnesses, a vehicle stopped in front of a residence in the 2000 block of West Avenue E and Juan Luna exited the vehicle and fired several shots toward a crowd standing in front of the residence. All three suspects were taken to the Hempstead County Detention Facility and held for a first appearance.   The incident is still under investigation.

On May 31, 2020 at approximately 12:20 am, officers of the Hope Police Department arrested Robert Langston, 26, of Hope, Arkansas and charged him with two counts of aggravated assault on a family member and one count of aggravated assault. The arrest occurred in the 1000 block of West 7th Street in Hope.  Langston was taken to the Hempstead County Detention Facility and held for a first appearance.

On June 1, 2020, at approximately 2:30 am, officers of the Hope Police Department arrested Danny Shrewsberry, 46, of Hope, Arkansas and charged him with terroristic threatening 1st degree. The arrest occurred in the 500 block of South Spruce Street in Hope. Shrewsberry was taken to the Hempstead County Detention Facility and held for a first appearance.
