HOPE – The Hope Public Schools-ExpressRx partnership mass COVID-19 vaccine clinic conducted April 2 broke the 1,000 vaccine administrations barrier.

HPS District Nurse Renee Sells, RN, said Monday a total of 417 vaccines were administered during the fifth mass clinic, bringing the total vaccines administered by the partnership to 1,414.

“We are making a difference,” Sells said.

Vaccinations will be administered in a sixth clinic at the Hope High School MAC Complex from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 16, she said.

“We are proud to have been able to work with ExpressRx and their terrific leadership and staff to offer the vaccine clinics,” HPS Superintendent Dr. Bobby Hart said. “We hope everyone eligible in our community will take advantage of this great opportunity.”

Registration through Express Rx of Hope is required at https://ExpressRxVaccinationAppointments.as.me/1330HopeHigh online. Registration by phone is available at 870-777-4643. Persons without a return email address should use [email protected] as their return email address for registration purposes.

Completion of the COVID-19 Consent Form provided at www.hpsdistrict.org online is also required. A photo ID, insurance card and Medicare card, where applicable, must be presented at the door. Any form of photo ID is acceptable.

The Moderna and the Johnson and Johnson vaccines will be available for all individuals ages 18 and over, Sells said. Neither are approved for individuals under age 16. Individuals receiving the second dosage of Moderna vaccine must also present their COVID-19 vaccination record at the door.

Sells said there is no “out of pocket” cost for vaccinations. Wheelchair service will be available at the door of the MAC center. Spanish translators will be on site to assist with check in.

COVID-19 protocols will apply, including:

--Wear loose fitting shirt or blouse for easy access to upper arm.

--Wear a face mask.

--Observe social distancing.

--Be prepared to remain on site for 20 minutes after vaccination.

Parking at HHS will be in designated areas at the north side of the South Main Street entrance.
