Henderson State University’s Department of Music will present the Student Honors Recital Saturday, Feb. 5, at 7:30 p.m. in the Russell Fine Arts Harwood Recital Hall.

The program features student soloists who were selected as winners of a competition held in November.

“These are some of the very top vocalists and instrumentalists in our department, and it’s a pleasure to showcase their outstanding performances in front of an audience,” said Dr. Steven Becraft, competition coordinator and professor of clarinet and saxophone.

Saturday’s concert is free and open to the public. Attendance is limited to 50 guests, and masks are required.

Soloists include:

  • Elora Rawdah, a trumpeter from Royse City, Texas, who will perform the first movement of Haydn’s Trumpet Concerto in E flat major.

  • Reece Ruhl, a tenor from Paragould, who will perform “Quanto e bella, quanto e cara!” from Donizetti’s L’Elisir D’Amore.

  • Will Cole, a trombonist from Mount Ida, who will perform the first movement of Tomasi’s Concerto for Trombone.

  • Wesley Gangluff, a euphoniumist from Bryant, who will perform two movements of Karl Jenkin’s Euphonium Concerto.
