FAYETTEVILLE - Starting with Sunday’s American Track Professional League indoor track meet hosted by the University of Arkansas at its Randal Tyson Indoor Track, Razorbacks quarter-miler/blade runner Hunter Woodhall is turning professional.

Woodhall will still train with the Razorbacks men's team and serve as a student assistant coach, Arkansas Coach Chris Bucknam said Saturday, but the 4-time All-American’s Razorbacks  running career ceases upon turning pro.

 “I’m coming into the pro level with a bang,”Woodhall said. “They have some of the top names in the sport racing here this weekend. It’s a great feeling and I couldn’t have had it any other way. I’m super psyched about it, thankful and blessed.”

Noting Woodhall’s participation as a student-coach and continuing to train with Razorbacks sprints coach Doug Case in trying to make the U.S ParaOlympics team, Bucknam said “He has our full support. I hate to lose him, but he just had to make the decision he had to make. We just wish him the best.”
