HWL Celebrates Public Power Week with Community Coffee
Hope Water & Light (HWL) staff, administration, and commissioners provided a warm welcome to local citizens this morning when they hosted this week's Community Coffee. The HWL team treated guests to an elegant brunch spread that was catered by Sheba's Family Restaurant that hosted a variety of appetizers and menu items, both savory and sweet, ranging from biscuits, ham, and coffee cake to boiled shrimp, dips, and much more.

HWL General Manager: Operations, Russell Cornelius said the HWL team was excited to be hosting this week's Coffee, especially during this important week. "Here at Hope Water & Light, we always host two coffees a year, one for National Drinking Water Week, and then this one is for Public Power Week. We do it to celebrate all of our electric employees who do an amazing job for us, every day, every year keeping the lights on. I don't think anybody can complain about Hope Water & Light and our ability to keep the lights on. We are just happy to get the community out, we've got a pretty good turnout today which is awesome."

Cornelius went on to talk about their broadband services and a little something extra in the works. "You'll notice that we have a screen we're showing our broadband product that we've been offering for a little over a year now, and we're actually breaking into offering phone service. That's going to be rolling out in the next few weeks. I know we've got some customers that are really excited about that," Cornelius said.

Numerous representatives from local businesses, organizations, schools, civic groups, and more came out to show their support to the HWL team.  All appeared to enjoy the inviting atmosphere, appetizing meal, and conversation with the HWL team as they celebrated Public Power Week.
