Fast-forward to the bottom of the 3rd inning, Brogan Rhodes came into a 10-7 ballgame, in which the Jays were down, and got out of a big jam. As the game headed into the 4th with an LC 10-7 lead, Nevada showed a lot of resilience and started chipping away at the Cougars lead. Brogan Rhodes would pitch 2 innings of 1-hit ball to keep the Cougars off the scoreboard. Cole Fore would enter the game in the bottom of the 5th, got a big strikeout with runners in scoring position to end an LC threat. The Jays would take an 11-10 lead heading into the bottom of the 7th, where Fore would shut the door, and give the Blue Jays the 11-10 win. "We were down quite a bit, we got the comeback and had really good energy," Cole Fore said after the Jays win.
Wesley Almand got the nod from Coach Rhodes on Tuesday, striking out 3 batters. Tristan Griffith pitched 2 innings of relief, allowing 1 ER and striking out 4 batters. Rhodes and Fore came in and got the final 13 outs of the game without surrendering a run. Fore would be awarded with the victory on the mound.
Fresh out of basketball season, Justin Myrick smacked 3 hits, including a pair of doubles and had 2 RBI. Colin Nelson had a 2-hit night with an RBI. Payton Smith had a double and an RBI, while Wesley Almand had 2 RBI. Braylon Srebalus added a hit and an RBI. The Blue Jays did a great job working the count, as they drew a combined 6 walks and were also award first base 6 times on hit by pitches.
