Jonquil Fest continues on a sunny Saturday

A look at just a few of the vendors' tents to be seen from Old Washington's visitor's center steps.

Jonquil Festival 2022 got started early Saturday, with the running of the 5k, the opening of even more vendors' booths and the addition of the car and tractor shows.

With the sun finally shining in a clear blue sky, hundreds of attendees through Old Washington among the jonquils.

At 9 a.m. the Car Show and Rusty Wheels Engines & Tractor display began in Block 6, with dozens of freshly painted and lovingly restored and maintained vehicles and farm machines to see.

Also at that hour, the Four States Iron Munchers began working with coals, anvils and hammers to hew bright orange metal into shape. The crack of metal on metal could be heard for several blocks as coal smoke drifted across the jonquil fields.

At 10 a.m., the youngsters of Danctastic presented their choreography on cuteness overload before a crowd gathered around the Entertainment tent. That location is reserved at 3:00 p.m. for Vintage Dancers.

The 54th Jonquil Festival ends this afternoon at 5 p.m.
