Jr. Lady Saints Comeback and Win Final Two Sets to Top Trinity Christian
Texarkana- The Jr. Lady Saints continued to show their resilience as a group, as they have now two comeback wins already in the early part of the season. After a rough opening set, the Lady Saints settled in and won the final sets convincingly 25-14 and 15-6. Abby Mendoza got the final and deciding set off to a great start, serving up 7 consecutive points to begin the set. Blayklee Glass really dominated around the net for GMCS, as she had a team high 6 kills. Glass also added 4 aces. "Feels great, glad to come back in the last two sets to get the win," as Blayklee Glass spoke on the teams comeback win. Mendoza finished the night with 8 aces and 3 kills. Gracie Bullock has really emerged as another weapon for the Jr. Lady Saints squad as she had 2 aces and continues to play very well in a lot of different aspects of the game. Lexi Crane's hard-work this summer is continuing to pay off, as she is helping the team win games at the net and the back-row. Bullock had 2 aces and Crane had 1 ace. Olivia Butler made some plays on Monday as she finished the night with 1 kill and 1 ace. Zoe Robertson served up an ace and made her presence felt at the net. Laikyn Burns had a really good game Monday, with a season-high 3 aces and a kill. Great win for the Jr. Lady Saints, as they continue to show they're going to be a tough team to beat this season. "Grateful and thankful for the win, God did everything out there, happy to get the win," Abby Mendoza on the Lady Saints comeback win. The Jr. Saints are back in action on Tuesday as they travel across the country to Cornerstone this afternoon, with the game set to begin at 4:30.
