Jr Saints Fall Just Short of Comeback Win Against Columbia

Jr Saints Fall Just Short of Comeback Win Against Columbia
Magnolia- The Jr. Lady Saints had their work cut out for them on Tuesday, as they traveled to Magnolia for a match with Columbia Christian. The Lady Saints dropped the opening set 17-25, but fought back and won the 2nd set 25-18 to set up the third and deciding set. The Jr. Saints came up just short as they dropped the final set 15-11. Columbia is now a AAA team, so their Jr. Team consists of mostly 9th graders, while the Lady Saints play all 7th and 8th graders, so it was a great test for them and they worked extremely hard and gave themselves a really good chance to win the match.

Abby Mendoza had 3 aces, 1 kill, and 3 digs for the Jr. Saints as she was diving all over the floor. Blayklee Glass had 1 ace, 1 kill, and 4 digs. Mendoza and Glass also do a great job of being floor generals for the Jr. Saints. Zoe Robertson had a great day at the net as she had a team-high 3 kills and served up 2 aces. Lexi Crane had 1 kill and did a great job passing the ball, while Gracie Bullock had a team-high 4 aces on Tuesday. Josie Pinner had 3 digs and 1 ace, and Mattie Rogers had 3 digs for the Saints.

The Jr. Team is back in action on Thursday at 4:30 as they host ACA. Look for the Jr. Saints to be ready to come out and get a win, as they have done a great job this season on not letting one loss turn into multiple losses this season. Their 3-0 record following a loss this season speaks wonders on their determination, mentality and leadership they have.
