Today was the second day of classes in Kids' College, a summer program in its 15th year, which now takes place at Hempstead Hall on the University of Arkansas Hope -Texarkana campus.

This afternoon kids in grades three and four took lessons in Japanese culture (today they worked on lettering), cartoon drawing (today it was drawing a flip book) and Horse-ology (the care and feeding of Flicka the Pony and BB the quarterhorse). In the morning, first and second graders had similar experiences.

Director of the College, Akili Moses Israel said the students would meet various professionals during what is called the Career Caravan. The Hope Fire Department visited yesterday. Tomorrow, Pafford representatives will visit, followed by officers of the Hope Police Department Thursday and agents of Arkansas Game and Fish next week during the sessions for middle school students.

Kids College will continue until June 16 and the second session for first through fourth graders starting June 27. Camp Save-A-Life, for middle school students, will start June 20 and run until June 24th. It will run again from July 11 through 15. In Camp Save-A-Life, Moses Israel said teaches the students CPR and First Aid and allows each to earn a CPR and First Aid certificate.
