The "Kindness Travels" art installation exhibit will be set up and available for public viewing at the Arkansas State Capitol in the Rotunda on Monday, March 1st, 2021 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

This project was created as an opportunity for children in the community to open up and discuss their feelings about the COVID-19 pandemic. Several schools in Southwest Arkansas participated and students were able to fill out and color cards where they could share notes of encouragement and words of kindness to first responders, healthcare professionals, and the elderly.

On Monday the finished art piece will be unveiled at the State Capitol. You can see it up close and read the positive, encouraging messages. There will also be speakers sharing about the program beginning at 10:00 a.m.

This project is the result of a partnership between the Promoting Positive Emotions program by the Arkansas Department of Human Services (Stay Positive Arkansas), the Southwest Arkansas Arts Council, Hempstead Hall, FEMA, Southwest Arkansas Counseling & Mental Health Center, and many of the area schools.
