After braving the chilly air during the Hope Christmas Parade, holiday revelers retreated to the warmth inside the Klipsch Museum’s auditorium to hear a holiday ensemble and participate in a sing-a-long of favorite Christmas carols.
Prelude music was provided by a wind ensemble and, after a welcome from Chris Vines, the Garrett Memorial Baptist Church Worship Team led the crowd in a rendition of “Joy to the World.”
Afterward, special guests Measure of Grace continued the program with “Go Tell it on the Mountain.”
Throughout the program, the crowd sang along with holiday favorites including “I’ll Be Home for Christmas,” “Angels We Have Heard on High,” and “Little Drummer Boy,” and “White Christmas.” In between holiday favorites, Billy Langston regaled the audience with “A Christmas Story to Remember,” followed by soloist Katherine Daniels singing “Noel.”
The GMBC Worship Team then led the crowd in renditions of “O Little Town of Bethlehem,” “O Come Emmanuel,” and “Mary Did You Know,” before Arnetta Bradford’s performance of “I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day.”
The evening closed out with “Come Thou Long Expected Jesus” and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas” before GMBC’s pastor Clif Johnson closed in prayer.
The program included Chris Vines (Youth Minister of GMBC), Mike Goodwin (Evangelistic International Ministries), Measure of Grace (Randy Banks, Misty Banks, Byron DeLamar, Sandy Downs, Autumn Newsome, Zane Glasscock, and Randy Cloud), Jack Daniels (Worship Leader GMBC), Sharon Tropp (Accompanist, Unity Baptist Church), Billy Langston (Worship Pastor, Forest Hill Baptist Church), Arnetta Bradford (Hebrews 11:1), Clif Johnson (Pastor GMBC), and the GMBC Wind Ensemble (Woody Boyd – Trumpet, Michael Heron – Trumpet, Vincent Flieder – Trombone, Phillip McLarty – Trombone, Julie Gladden – Alto Saxophone/Flute, Logan Lauterbach – Alto Saxophone, Danny Lauterbach – Tenor Saxophone, Kaylyn Robertson – Tenor Saxophone, Bonnie Flieder – French Horn, and Casey Lauderbach – French Horn).
