Wednesday, May 24, 2023, Hope, Arkansas, Klipsch Heritage Museum Association (KHMA) is seeking an Executive Director to provide dynamic leadership and to direct planning, organization, and operations. The Executive Director will work closely with the Board of Trustees to refine, develop, and implement a progressive program for fundraising, educational activities, and community outreach and growth.

Typical Functions

Works in conjunction with the board to develop the strategic direction and establish initiatives to fulfill the mission of KHMA and increase local, statewide, national, and international awareness and prominence. Directs the Visitors Center operations, to include development, education and public programming, external communications, and volunteer recruitment. 

Level Descriptor

Leads and participates in all fundraising and development activities, including grant writing and developing relationships with foundations, corporations, and individual donors.

Serves as spokesperson and chief advocate for Klipsch Heritage Museum Association. Establishes strong partnerships in the community. Enhances Klipsch Heritage Museum Association’s public image to expand interest and support.

Education and Experience

Minimum education requires a bachelor’s degree in museum history, education, or related field. Advanced degree preferred. Five years of experience in a museum, nonprofit organization, or business. At least two years at a senior managerial level preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competencies

Ability to provide strong leadership, vision, and strategic direction. Experience developing and implementing strategic plans.

Demonstrated knowledge of standards and best practices for museums or similar organizations.

Record of success in fundraising and audience development.

Excellence in writing and public speaking.

Record of success in fundraising and audience development.
