Dierks- The Lady Bears offense flexed a bit early on Thursday evening, as they scored 10 runs in the first 2 innings of the game to cruise to a 15-1 win in the District Tournament Championship against Dierks. Erin McMaster started the scoring in the 1st inning by knocking in Cally Sullivan with an RBI triple. Cami Porter and Livi Tyree followed by smashing back-to-back doubles to make the score 3-0 after the first inning. Someone proceeded to put a quarter in the merry-go-round as Spring Hill batted around in the 2nd inning, scoring 7 runs and piling up 7 hits, five of which were doubles to extend the lead to 10-0. The Lady Bears added 3 more in the third inning and 2 more runs in the 5th to claim the 15-1 victory. Erin McMaster proved to be a tough task for the Lady Outlaws, only allowing 2 hits and 1 run while striking out 5 batters in 5 innings of work. McMaster had all of her pitches working throughout the game and did a great job hitting her spots and keeping the hitters off balance. Offensively, the Lady Bears had their way banging out 17 hits, including 10 extra-base hits. Livi Tyree was a problem for Dierks Thursday as she smacked a triple, double, and a single while driving in 4 runs. Erin McMaster had also had 3 hits, including a triple and a double and 3 RBIs. Cami Porter continued her brilliance at the plate with 2 more doubles, including one that was a foot from leaving the yard. Cally Sullivan continues to set the tone for the team offensively at the top of the lineup with 3 more hits and scored 3 runs while swiping 2 bags. Camryn Dickson smashed 2 doubles and drove in 2 runs for the Lady Bears. Ava McBrayer, Baili Butler, and Kelsie Thompson each had a hit for Spring Hill tonight as well. The Lady Bears seem to be trending in the right direction as they earned their two biggest wins of the season this week by showing a tremendous amount of resilience in the comeback win Tuesday night and then Thursday just flat-out crushing the softball. Lately the Lady Bears are displaying a great brand of softball and proving that they are a team that can win games in many different ways. The Lady Bears will head into the Regional Tournament in Horatio next week as a #1 seed, where they are scheduled to take the field May 4th at 3PM. Their opponent is yet to be determined.Â
