Little Rock- The Lady Cat Soccer Team had a 1st Round matchup Thursday against host LR Robinson. The girls from Hope played very hard, but in the end came up short as they lost to a very good Robinson team. Coach Marshall and Coach Dominguez were both very proud of the girls this year, Coach Marshall emphasizing that this Lady Cats team had the best record of any girls’ soccer team since he’s been coaching at Hope (8-6-3). In the post-game speech, the coaches praised the Seniors on the team for laying the groundwork for the underclassmen on the team. This senior class of Lady Cats (Mariana Turcios, Saniyah Walker, Britzi Marrufo, Jaelyn Lara, Jacquelin Jimenez, Jasmin Rodriguez, Itzel Aguilar, Drayhanara Santamaria, Ermelinda Piza) will most certainly be missed by the coaching staff and their younger teammates. With a very determined look in their eyes after the post-game speech from Coach Marshall, the younger players that are returning next year understand what it takes to return to the State Tourney and know what they need to improve on to advance further next season. I am very confident this Lady Cats team will make a return trip to the State Tourney next season. Congratulations on a great season Lady Cats!!!
