Lady Cats Drop Tough Game to Malvern on Friday
Malvern- It was the conference finale for the Lady Cats as they hit the road and headed to Malvern on Friday night for a date with the Lady Leopards. Payton Rhodes got the nod to start the game in the pitchers' circle, as she had formidable opposition in Malvern's pitcher Kendall Watson.

Payton Rhodes did a great job early on, keeping Malvern off-balance at the plate and allowing just 1 unearned run in the first two innings. The wheels would sort of fall off for Hope in the third and fourth innings, as a few big hits from Malvern and a couple of costly mistakes gave Malvern a 9-0 advantage after the fourth inning. Malvern would tack on the winning run in the fifth to win 10-0. Hope had a tough time at the plate against Watson, as she used her lively fastball to best the Lady Cats hitters. Allowing just 1 hit and striking out 5, Payton Rhodes would finish with 3 strikeouts in the pitchers' circle.

Hope would manage just four baserunners throughout the game, as the Lady Cats had 3 hits and drew one walk. Payton Rhodes ripped a double, while Grace Trauger and Chyna Tolliver each had singles, and Ava Brown drew the lone walk for Hope. Defensively, Chyna Tolliver made a heck of a diving catch in center field for Hope.

Hope is back in action on Tuesday, as they host Arkansas High for Senior Night.
