Lady Cats Celebrate After Win Over Mena 3-0

Bauxite- The Lady Cats Soccer team is headed to State as the #3 Seed from the 4A South Region. Hope played 2 games this week, starting with a 2-0 loss in the Semifinals to host Bauxite, then topped Mena 3-0 on a stellar hat trick from Madelyne Maclaughlin as they clinched the 3rd place game. Mariana Turcios picked up 2 assists in the game and Cristal Aguilar had an assist as well. The Lady Cats played great all week in both games, in the Bauxite game just a couple things shifted the game in Bauxites favor, but the girls battled through it. Friday against Mena an excellent display of team defense, with great plays by Saniyah Walker, Mariana Turcios, Jacquelin Jimenez, Jasmin Rodriguez and the Goalie Angelica Soto played brilliantly as the Lady Cats shutout Mena. Coach Marshall and Coach Dominguez were very proud of how the girls showed up and played Friday and are excited for the State Tournament coming up next week. The Lady Cats are set to play the Robinson Senators at 9AM Thursday morning in the first round of the State Tournament.
