Lady Cats Top Morrilton on Thursday Night 3-0

Hope Soccer Lady Cats Soccer

Hope- The Hope Lady Cats Soccer team hosted Morrilton on Thursday night and came away from a tough contest with a 3-0 win. Needing a win, the Lady Cats took care of business against the Lady Devil Dogs, as Crystal Ortiz got the scoring going early on, as she found the back of the net off of a great pass from Miracle Martinez. Miracle would then score a goal of her own, as Audrey Mercado gave Martinez a nice pass to give the Lady Cats a 2-0 lead in the first half. Ten minutes into the 2nd half, Crystal Ortiz strikes again with her second goal of the night, on a brilliant pass from Brianna Maclaughlin to give Hope a 3-0 lead. The defense played great, as they shut down the Morrilton attack, and Angelica Soto had a clean sheet on Thursday night. This win came at the right time for the Lady Cats, as they now have a firm grip on a top-4 seed in the conference. Jacquline Reyna, Brency Cabriales, Esme Leon, Reyna Martinez, Yudit Dominguez, and Cristal Aguilar played great games on defense for the Lady Cats.

Hope heads to DeQueen on Thursday night in a showdown with the Lady Leopards. Hope and DeQueen tied 1-1 earlier in the season.
