Ouachita- The Lady Dragons ( 9-1) hit the road on Wednesday for a non-conference game against Ouachita. With the wind blowing a million miles per hour, the fans could not tell if we were at Ouachita's field or at Wrigley Field. Despite the wind, the pitching and defense were very good, as freshman Kenzie Burris got her first varsity start and did an excellent job in the circle, striking out 6 batters and allowing just 4 hits in 4 innings of work. Coach Sanders showed a lot of trust in Burris, as she allowed her to work out of a couple of bases loaded jams, and Burris did a great job of staying composed through all of that to limit the Lady Warriors in those situations.

Sophomore Rylee Fike came in relief and picked up the win, as she tossed 3 innings of no-hit ball, striking out 2 batters.

Kelsie Fowler walked up to the plate with the Lady Dragons trailing 3-2 in the top of the 6th and smashed a triple to right-centerfield, Fowler would end up scoring on an errant throw to tie the game. Later on in that inning, Jessyca Thompson would deliver the go-ahead RBI double that would put Genoa Central on top for good, as they exploded for 5 more runs in the 7th inning to pull away from Ouachita for a 10-3 victory. After the game, Kelsie Fowler spoke on the win, "We struggled at the plate at first, but seeing the pitchers a couple of times, waiting on the ball, we started getting it."

Six Lady Dragons had multi-hit games as Jessyca Thompson led the way at the plate for the with a 3-hit and 3 RBI performance, as she smashed a double and 2 singles. Ali Pierce got things started for Genoa, as she led the game off with a triple and added a double later on in the game. Kenzie Owens had a pair of doubles and 2 RBI, while Kelsie Fowler added a triple and a single. Rylee Fike and Ady Clement each had 2 singles. Clement added an RBI. Brenley Ward would add a single and Emily McGuire would add an RBI.

The Lady Dragons are back in action this weekend at the D-Mac Tournament in Hope, as they play Friday night against Monticello.
