Buckets were hard to come by for both teams, as neither offense could really get in a groove, but it was the Lady Hornets clamping down on defense in key parts of the game, prevailing to victory 43-36.
Kentana Williamson led the way with 18 points. Majesty Manning poured in 9 points and added 3 steals. Amya Phillips played very well, scoring 8 and grabbing 9 rebounds. Makiya Manning played great on defense and scored 6 points. "Big shout out to Makiya tonight, she did a great job on #1 all game, limiting her looks," Coach Tank Woodley said when asked about the defensive performance from his squad. R'Moni Jamerson had a season-high 18 rebounds and added 2 points.
The Lady Hornets are back in action on Friday as they play the winner of Mineral Springs and Lafayette Co.
